Vineet Mittal

Chairman SPDA & Avaada Group

Vineet Mittal is the Founder and Chairman of Avaada Group and a leading figure in India’s clean energy transition. A pioneer in renewable energy, he is working to position India as a global hub for sustainable power and emerging green technologies.

Under his leadership, Avaada has evolved into a diversified energy conglomerate, driving advancements in renewable energy, solar PV manufacturing, green data centres, pumped hydro storage, battery energy storage solutions, and green hydrogen and its derivatives. An NIT engineer and Harvard Business School alumnus, he is widely recognised for building one of the world’s largest single-site solar projects by a private IPP—1.25 GWp in Rajasthan in 2022.

Beyond enterprise, Mr. Mittal is an active contributor to global climate and sustainability dialogue. He has served as Co-Chair of the B20 Task Force on Energy, Climate Change and Resource Efficiency, chairs the CII Sub-Committee on Hydrogen Usage and Standards, and engages with global platforms to advance collaborative climate action. A trailblazer since his early career at VSNL, he blends Vedic wisdom with innovation. Guided by the five Ayurvedic elements and the philosophy of Karmayoga, he leads with purpose. His “People Before Profits” philosophy drives the Avaada Foundation’s work across 15 states. A yogi and seeker, he believes inner change is the foundation of lasting outer impact.

Sandeep Kashyap

President SPDA, CEO Purvah Green Energy

Sandeep is a visionary leader in India’s renewable energy sector, with 30+ years of experience across solar, wind, and green hydrogen. As the CEO of Purvah Green Power Pvt. Ltd. (RP–Sanjiv Goenka Group), he is leading the development of a multi-gigawatt renewable energy portfolio and steering the company toward becoming a top clean energy player in India. He has spearheaded large-scale projects, shaped industry policies, and driven sustainable innovations nationwide.

His strategic foresight and leadership have earned him multiple industry accolades, reinforcing his commitment to accelerating India’s clean energy transition.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad.


Sunil Gupta

Chief Executive Officer, Azure Power

Sunil Gupta is an experienced business leader with a strong track record of building renewable energy businesses. Prior to Azure, he was the Head - Southeast Asia & South Asia Business at Vena Energy (a leading Asia Pacific renewable energy company), managing existing business and developing new projects. Earlier he was Group Head - Renewable Energy Business at Sembcorp Industries, Singapore, where he built the renewables business and spearheaded market entry in India, Australia, Singapore and Vietnam. In India, he was instrumental in managing a business comprising of multiple utility scale wind and solar power generation plants across seven different states. Prior to Sembcorp, Sunil was a cleantech industry professional with Standard Chartered Bank and Morgan Stanley.
Sunil holds a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Sumant Sinha

Chairman & CEO, Renew Power

A leading first-generation entrepreneur, Sumant Sinha is the Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Renew Power – one of India’s largest clean energy companies. Sumant founded Renew Power in January 2011, with a vision to transform the way energy is produced and consumed in India. Since then, under his leadership, the company has grown exponentially and is today one of India’s premier renewable energy companies with an aggregate portfolio of more than 10 GW spread over more than 100 sites. Sumant is a passionate advocate for solutions related to climate change and sustainable development and has spoken at various thought leadership platforms, such as World Economic Forum at Davos, Climate Week NYC, CERA Week and other forums organized by Financial Times, ORF as well as leading global universities. He has written more than 150 opinion articles in leading global and Indian publications on the pressing issues of climate change, renewable energy and sustainable economic growth. Sumant has recently written a book – Fossil Free: Reimagining Clean Energy in a Carbon-Constrained World which is about the past, present and future of the world’s energy systems in the context of the world’s changing climate and spells out a playbook to create a carbon light future for India. Former Vice President Al Gore describes the book as “a compelling roadmap to a better, cleaner future for India—and other developing regions of the world”.

Sumant is Co-Chair, Electricity Governor’s Group and member of the Stewardship Board on Shaping the Future of Energy and at the World Economic Forum. He serves on the Board of Directors of the US India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and Chairs The Climate Group’s India Advisory Board. Sumant is Senior Vice President of the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and member - Advisory Committee of India Climate Collaborative- a platform promoting policy advocacy and thought leadership on climate change. He is on the Board of Governors of IIM Calcutta, IIT Delhi and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). Sumant has a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, a diploma in business management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and also a B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.



Manoj Kumar Upadhyay

Mr. Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, Founder of ACME Group is an innovator, technologist and serial entrepreneur with several patents in his credit. He has more than 2 decade of experience in telecom & energy sector. Mr. Upadhyay is an inventor of many disruptive products/solutions in telecom energy space which have seen large scale commercial success and has contributed significantly in lowering down the call rate by reducing the cost of energy infrastructure.

His dedication and innovation has benefited the nation by bringing down the Solar Cost at INR 2.44 per kWh, historic low in India. Currently, ACME is the leading solar power developer with a capacity of 5.5+ GWp in India out of which 2.9+ GWp is operational including plant with historic low tariff.

The company has an asset base of USD 2Bn and employs more than 1200 associates across various sites. Mr. Upadhyay is progressively establishing an organization to excel with a vision of “Building next generation utility” and mission of “Providing Sustainable Green Energy at Affordable Rate” Currently the company through its innovation is working on energy storage, electric vehicle, water desalination and other new sectors to make their use commercially viable.
